As I was traveling I found this unique small town gem in Winchester, TN. I was told it started in 1976 and changed hands a few times. The original owner Skip was a big guy who loved food and famous for his large thick hamburgers. He passed away but his legacy is still going and I liked it. They were great to accommodate my gluten allergy. I liked the grilled chicken it was tender and moist. The yams were out of this world I have to say. The cole slaw was plain but tasty. Next is the green beans they were good with alittle kick from the black pepper. I had a salad with honey mustard but they make there own ranch dressing in house I hear. They put boiled eggs cut in half which I really liked. The prices were very reasonable for the amount food I ordered too. Checkout the Elvis party room. Last but not least ice cream with hot chocolate drizzled on top. Oh yah.... The restaurant itself is a country home town feel that I loved. The whole restaurant was newly renovated. The 1950's style bar feel is a nice touch. The people in the town are very warm and friendly. My waitress Jessica was friendly and did a great job. I recommend this restaurant if you are in town or just passing through. Let them know I sent you. Peace out be safe If you want to follow me as I travel the country doing one review at a time just follow my Google reviews
The sweetest little breakfast place! We are in town visiting, and we came here to eat, the best egg and cheese biscuit I’ve ever had, my boyfriend also loved his food, and very fast at getting your food. And affordable! Highly recommend.
I like that they open early in the morning. They have some breakfast specials at very reasonable prices that includes coffee. I had eggs, sausage, and biscuits with gravy. Everything was very good. The service was fast and friendly.
Always a great meal at Skip's! It's a wonderful small town cafe with more than fair prices. Friendly servers, too! If you sit close to the kitchen you'll get a delicious breakfast and a show from the ladies singing in the kitchen.
